How to Check the Text Message (SMS) Spam Folder
If your client hasn’t received the text message with your CrankWheel meeting link, it might have been filtered into their spam folder. You can guide them through the steps to check spam, depending on their device and messaging app.
iPhone (iOS)
- Open the Messages app
- Tap on Filters (top left corner)
- Select Unknown & Junk
- Look through messages from unknown senders
- If they find your message, they can click the link to join your meeting
Android
There are several different messaging apps on Android. Users with Samsung phones are most likely using Samsung Messages, others are most likely using Google Messages
Samsung Messages
- Open the Messages app
- Tap the three dots menu (top right)
- Select Settings
- Tap Block numbers and messages
- Tap Blocked messages to see filtered messages
- Look for the expected message. If found, they can click the link to join your meeting.
- Optional: Long-press the message, tap Unblock
Google Messages
- Open the Messages app
- Tap the three dots menu (top right)
- Select Spam & blocked
- Check for the message in the spam folder. If found, they can click on the link to join your meeting.
- Optional: Tap on the message, tap Not spam
Third-Party Messaging/SMS Apps
For those using different SMS apps on Android (like Textra, Pulse, etc.):
- Open the messaging/SMS app
- Look for settings or menu options
- Find Spam, Blocked, or Filtered messages
- Check that folder for the message. If found, click the link to join your meeting.
